It’s Just Another Day.

Gabriele is a boy of just twenty, suffocated by the provincial reality in which he was born and raised. Orphan of his mother, he is forced to constantly take care of his sick father, helped by his maternal aunt. The meeting with Giorgio, one of his countrymen, who has just moved to Rome, stirs Gabriele’s apathy and inner malaise. The two fall in love and start a long-distance relationship. Giorgio asks him to join him in Rome, in order to start a coexistence; but Gabriele is not yet ready for such an important step.

Chenxi Li is a young Chinese director living in Milan since 2012. He graduated in 2021 from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts at the Faculty of New Technologies of Art. His first film project Plate (2019) won the 36th International Multimedia Competition 2019-2020 Videocinema & School. It’s Just Another Day is Chenxi Li’s second short film, co-written with Nicolò Magnani and born as a graduation project. With no background music, the short was entirely shot with a hand-held camera. Chenxi Li is currently attending the two-year master’s degree in New Technologies of Art, Multimedia Arts of Cinema and Video.
