Two awards in Toulouse for The Red Tree!

Prix CCAS
We chose a film that addresses several themes that seduced us for the initiatory journey and the evolution of a girl, stepsister of an adult man, her roadmovie through a dangerous and implacable Colombia but also a land of encounters and mutual help; for the penetrating gaze of this girl. The film reflects the raw reality, that of a country subjected to the violence of armed groups; for The performance, the quality of the script, the music, the beauty of the landscapes and the staging make us unanimously award the prize to El Arbol Rojo“.

Prix RAIL D’OC
The railway workers award their PRIZE to the film The Red Tree by Juan Gómez Endara. A great humanity emerges from this road movie set in a Colombia where a hostile geopolitical context can be glimpsed in the background. The relationships that are woven between the adult brother and his stepsister who is ten years old are extremely tender and contrast with the difficulties they have to deal with. We will remember a beautiful human experience. The illusion subsists in a harsh world where solidarity and help still exist“.

Congratulations to Joan Gómez Endara and all cast & crew!
